My story
From the fat kid at the pool to national kickboxing champion. Here's how I got here, and why I can help you get where you want to be.
About me
Growing up with asthma, eczema and food allergies made me very malnourished and skinny at a young age. Once I got older my weight fluctuated massively, making me overweight. I know what it's like to be the fat kid at the pool, hating how I looked in anything besides a baggy shirt and hoodie, self conscious of everything I did and feeling insecure.
From the age of 11 I started kickboxing to try to keep fit, but my diet was terrible. I was eating all kinds of unhealthy food every day, fast food and processed sugar. I lost over 20kg, dropping from 95kg to 75kg. I had plenty of times where I wanted to give up as the scale wasn't moving, but slowly I realised losing fat isn't always about what the scale says. It's how you feel and look.
Since losing weight I've experimented with many ways of losing and gaining weight through different diets and exercises, constantly wanting to learn more. Eventually I applied to become a personal trainer through AIPT, achieving my Cert 3 and 4 in personal training and fitness. I'm now a qualified trainer and currently work out of Goodlife Health Clubs in Joondalup along with online training.
I've been doing kickboxing for just over 8 years now, starting in late 2017, and have been regularly competing in local, state and national competitions, including winning a national title in 2023. I'm also an instructor at Premier Martial Arts and Fitness.
If you ever see me on the gym floor, feel free to come up to me for advice or just have a chat. You can also send me a DM on my socials.
